In Year 3 our children can expect to learn in a creative and engaging way across all National Curriculum subjects. We have a variety of exciting topics, texts and opportunities to help us learn and grow.

Our topics are:

  • Rotten Romans and Cut-throat Celts - learning about how the Romans and Celts have had an impact on our lives now and finding out about some important figures at the time.

  • Rumbles and eruptions - discovering how volcanoes and earthquakes occur, why they happen and the effect they have on people’s lives.

  • African Adventure - finding out about different cultures and landscapes as well as learning about the animals here and their habitat.

  • It’s electrifying! - learning about electricity and creating our own working circuits to use in a range of projects.

  • Groovy Greeks - getting an insight into life as an Ancient Greek, including holding our own Olympic games!

We are also the year groups who learn to play the ukulele and we have the chance to perform for the school, our parents and some of us travel to venues to perform with other schools! Not only do we get to share our musical talents with our school community, we also be showcasing our class talents and learning through class assemblies. In Years 3 and 4, we promote working together to help everyone achieve their potential and to belong as a valued member of our incredible community.
