Reception

Here at Dorchester we recognise that starting school is a very exciting  milestone for you and your child. We make learning in Reception fun and enjoyable, allowing children to feel safe and secure. We thrive off strong partnerships with parents and caregivers from the very start to ensure transitions are smooth and everyone is involved in their child’s learning process from the beginning.

Our classrooms are fully equipped with resources and materials to support children’s individual ideas and interests. 

Reception children have access to learning both indoors and in the outdoor area. All the activities in the outdoor area develop key skills and provide opportunities for children to play, investigate and explore the natural world as well as strengthen their gross motor skills. Our wonderful new outdoor area offers opportunities that include climbing, a stage, a sand and water area, a construction zone, a mud kitchen and a dinosaur digging area.
