The annual Sports Hall Athletics is always a fun event in the sports calendar.
Most schools across the Borough take part across a number of heats, comprising of 8 schools per heat. As you can imagine, this is a busy, loud and exciting event and every competitor we took competed in 2 track and 1 or 2 fields events. The field events are mostly standing versions of standard sports days activities such as standing long jump, standing vertical jump and foam javelin. The track events are all relays, some are straight sprint relays but an obstacle and an over/under relay are also included to bring some slightly different skills to the usual running races.
The children need to be quite switched on – they have to get to their events and switch between using different skills and working with different people quickly. When the competition starts you have to be ready to step up for your next event as it doesn’t wait for you! Understanding the rules for the track events is also key and as the set up for this is very different from the outdoor athletics events the children take part in it means everyone has to be sure that they’ve listened to all the instructions given.
The Dorchester team were fantastic – we were so pleased with how they conducted themselves, how they gave every event they took part in their all and the determination they showed in doing their very best. Finishing 5th overall in our heat was a very respectable result.
Well done to Kieran, Macey, Nathan, Aiya, Connor, Lily, Austin, Lola, Teddy, Gkalena, Roman, Juliette, Kian, Hannah, Louie, Amelie, Dylan and Cleo.

Well done to the whole team, all supporters and to Mr Rayner their coach!.
Great start to the year for our football team with a fantastic 4-2 win over Abbey Primary and after coming back from 0-2 down this demonstrates what resilience and self-belief the boys had in their ability and teamwork.
Goal scorers were Macey x 2, Connor and Roman.
Great effort everyone!
What a trophy! What a superstar!

Won on penalties
This was the boys’ first competitive match together and what a way to start their Cup campaign!
It was a nail-biting game seeing the score tied at 2-2 at full-time, both of the Dorchester goals coming from Teddy, with the boys heading into penalties to decide who would take their place in the next round.
Nerves of steel were definitely required but the Dorchester team rose to the occasion and managed to edge ahead of Cheam Fields and take a well-deserved win!
Congratulations to Austin, Teddy, Archie, Roman, Oscar, Caleb, Dylan, Ronnie, Jesse, Austin and Dale.
It’s always a lovely opportunity for our children to be able to play at an event hosted by Fulham and use the Premiership level indoor facilities at their training ground.
The Foundation Cup sees schools from a wide area come together to compete for the title and also the opportunity to represent Fulham going forward into the wider national competition against other Club Foundations.
The competition is always a good standard and the pace and shorter length of the matches meant the girls had to start quickly, there was little time to find their feet or settle into their games. At the end of the competition the girls had lost two games but secured two well-deserved draws having played really well and thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
A special well done also to Dolly who was one of the few players across all the schools taking part to be awarded a certificate to recognise her demonstration of one of the Premier League Values during the tournament.
Well done to Macey, Lily, Dolly, Aiya, Maya, Gkalena, Scarlett and Amelie.
Our Year 5/6 Football Team went out this afternoon to play against Avenue Primary.
