The Very Hungry Caterpillar

How do we look after our teeth?

This week has seen an emotional farewell to our class butterflies. The attached picture is one of our butterflies in the school forest school area. The children have watched them grow from tiny caterpillars and talked about them every day. They have written about their progress and learnt the song 'There's a Tiny Caterpillar on a Leaf', Everyone has been truly captivated by them and the wide variety of bugs found in our outside area from a Hawk Moth, that hitched a ride on a child's shirt, to a tiny green and black striped beetle. Homes have been built and much nurturing done. In Maths we have been working out if a number is odd or even by seeing how many pairs we could make within the number and checking if there was an odd part that did not have a pair. They have been very creative in using blocks to build different configurations and then working it out! The Creative area has been used extensively for observational drawings and paintings of flowers and then dinosaurs.  The children have such an eye for detail now.
