The Gingerbread Man

Where have the Gingerbread Man been seen this week?

What an adventurous we have had in Reception this week. We have been reading the story of The Gingerbread Man. And so the refrain ‘Run, run, as fast as you can. You can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread Man!” has been heard frequently around the building. On Monday we all made our own Gingerbread biscuits, each class making an extra large one for Mrs Hall and Mrs Bell. Before we got to see the biscuits, the children were told that the two big ones had run away and nobody knew where they had gone. Everyone. got to work immediately making Missing posters to go around the school so that, if they were found, they could be brought back to the classrooms. The children also set about creating traps, in case the Gingerbread men came back to the classroom while the children were at home. Then we were sent some pictures by people who had seen the Gingerbread Men running out of school and down the High Street Worcester Park. They were even caught having a swing in the park. We printed off the photos and the children wrote about what they could see. We have continued to learn about numbers that are bigger than 10 and investigated the pattern of numbers as we count
