Nursery: Eid Mubarak-How do Muslims celebrate Eid?

This week in Nursery, we have been learning all about Eid and why it is an important celebration for Muslims. We have been reading Rameena’s Ramadan, which highlights key aspects of the month of Ramadan leading up to Eid such as fasting, praying and giving to charity. The story displayed the importance of helping others not just in form of giving money but also through actions such as helping your neighbours. . The children have learnt key facts about Eid and Ramadan and understood that Muslims can only eat before sunrise or after sunset when they are fasting.  We have also been learning about how Muslims go to the Mosque to pray and on Eid they say ‘Eid Mubarak’ The children have been getting involved in different activities to further their understanding. We have been decorating fabric pieces to make prayer mats. We have also been making our own Eid cards.
