Year 5 - What does a news report contain?

This week we are working hard in groups on creating newsreels with an element of an outside broadcast. We have been reading Hacker by Malorie Blackman, about a young girl called Vicky, who sets out to prove her dad's innocence. He is accused of a crime she knows he hasn't committed, so she uses her computing skills to prove his innocence. To round up this work, we are creating video newsreels of what it might be like interviewing Vicky and her dad. We have also been learning about the Battle of Hastings in 1066. In Science, we continue to look at the properties of materials and the rate of materials dissolving. We are looking forward to half-term and continuing our learning after the holiday.
