Year 5 Why was Britain such a desirable place to conquer for the Vikings?

As we have thought about why the Vikings invaded and eventually settled in England, it has made us reflect on some things we take for granted, such as food and a mild climate. The Vikings needed more farm land to grow food. They also enjoyed the warmer climate, not to mention the gold and silver used for religious artifacts. They made the most of all of these when they invaded and settled here in Britain. In Art, we are continuing to design our installation art pieces, inspired by all things in our homes. In Science, we are investigating how some things dissolve and what affects the rate of that process.
