Year 5: What skills did you develop on our D&T Day?
Tuesday was certainly a WOW day, when we had the whole year group making a healthy, vegan version of bolognese. The children had adapted the traditional version and had decided to use a wide variety of vegetables, including lentils as a protein alternative to beef mince. The whole of Ks2 smelt divine, as the 10 slow cookers bubbled with a rich vegetable bolognese. The children learnt to use peelers and knives safely to chop and dice a variety of vegetables. In the afternoon, the children made prototype labels and then improved versions of the labels to stick on their jar, for their product. The outcome was very high and the sauce tasted delicious. Most children gave it a 10/10. We hope you all enjoyed it at home.
