Why do we use grid references when map reading?

This week, Year 3 have been working incredibly hard on their Star Writes, writing persuasive letters to Earth about how we can all help to look after our planet. The children have impressed us with their thoughtful and creative ideas, carefully considering the small changes we can make to protect the environment. They have been using persuasive language, emotive vocabulary and rhetorical questions to encourage their reader to take action. It has been wonderful to see the children applying everything they have learned to produce engaging and convincing pieces of writing. We are very proud of their effort and the mature messages they have shared about caring for our world.
