What did we learn on our No Pens Day?

This week, Year 3 enjoyed taking part in No Pens Day, a special day focused on developing speaking, listening and teamwork skills. Throughout the day, the children took part in a range of exciting activities that encouraged them to communicate effectively without using any writing. In English, they explored environmental issues and took part in debates about pollution and caring for our planet. The children learnt how to express their opinions clearly, support their ideas with reasons and, importantly, disagree politely and respectfully with others. It was wonderful to see them listening carefully, building on each other's ideas and confidently sharing their viewpoints.
In Maths, the children focused on explaining their methods and reasoning aloud. They worked with partners to discuss different strategies, justify their answers and explain how they had solved problems step by step. This helped to deepen their understanding and develop their mathematical vocabulary.
