Year 2: Can you describe where countries in the UK are using the directions north, south, east and west?

This week, the children have been learning some positional language. For example, England is south of Scotland. Wales is west of England. To add to this, some children were challenged to describe diagonal positions, such as Scotland is north east of Wales. England is south east of Northern Ireland.

The children were very accurate in their descriptions and could use it to direct others around the classroom and playground too!
