Year 2: What are the different biomes of Southern Africa, and how do they compare to the UK?

This week in Geography, the children spent the day learning more about the range of biomes that exist across Southern Africa. Some of the biomes explored were the desert, savannah and rainforest. We compared the temperature and rainfall in those areas to those in the UK. As well as this, we explored the plants and animals that live in those places.

Using this information, the children created their own ‘shoebox biome’ and decorated it with the landscape, plants and animals that are found in that biome.
