Year 1: What are the parts of a plant?

In Science, the children have been learning about the different parts of a plant in Science. They explored roots, stems, leaves and flowers and discussed the important role each part plays in helping a plant grow and survive. We went on a walk around the school grounds where the children carefully observed a variety of plants in their natural environment. They showed great curiosity, spotting similarities and differences between plants. Back in the classroom, the children applied their knowledge by labelling their own plants.
