Boys Football team Vs Queen Eleanors

2 - 1 to Dorchester

On Tuesday afternoon, the Year 6 boys football team played their first game in the Surrey Cup against Queen Eleanors from Guildford. The boys fought hard from the first whistle and it was a tough start to the match shooting uphill. Unfortunately we went into half time 1-0 down but the boys were determined to turn things around in the second half. Shortly after half time, we won a free kick just outside the box, Teddy A took the free kick and his shot ended up finding the back of the net making it 1-1. From then on, we created lots of chances but the score remained 1-1 with Extra Time and Penalties looking likely. However, in the last few seconds of the game, the ball fell to Teddy on the volley outside the box. He watched the ball carefully and put his laces through it and was able to find the far corner of the net sending us through to the next round of the cup! The boys showed fantastic team spirit and great resilience and we are looking forward to our next opponents.
