Borough Sports 2025 - Year 6

This is a much smaller competition now in terms of the number of events running and so our team consisted of just 4 boys and 4 girls from Year 6.
Each of our runners took part in two races from an individual sprint, a boys’/girls’ relay and a mixed relay. As usual, the competition was fierce - particularly in the Year 6 section - but each and every one of our children threw themselves at their races and gave them their very best shot.
It was great to see the encouragement they were giving each other within their relay teams and how well they worked together, wherever they were in the field.
The overall scores are based on a Year 6 and a Year 5 team entering, which unfortunately we couldn’t do this year due to the Year 5 Residential this week, meaning that Dorchester did finish at the bottom of the large schools table this year - an obvious outcome as we could only enter half the events!
Based on that, the overall position was irrelevant to us today – this was more about having the experience of a well organised, widespread Borough event and also the chance to run on the track at The David Weir Centre competitively – a little bit different from navigating our track back at school on the field!
Great effort today from Nathan, Macey, Harry, Amelie, Kieran, Lily, Connor and Lottie.
