The weather and the diminishing light both had their parts to play in the games as the afternoon drew on and the final matches were played, but it was nonetheless a very productive afternoon for our squad. We took a squad of 10 which meant that we could make some changes according to how the games were progressing. This also meant that the players needed to adapt their own games to work effectively with different people in some of the positions, which isn’t always an easy thing to do, particularly in reasonably short games, as these were. The children did a great job though, all contributing fully to the matches they played in and the sense of team, I would say, was one of the real strengths of our performances throughout.Great work in defence to turn the ball over and smooth movement and passing down court meant that our shooters had plenty of opportunities to score goals, which they did. We have confidence that they can, and will, convert our chances and that makes a massive difference in a sport where only two of your players are allowed to shoot and needing to score a high number of goals is key. This leaves the squad having won all four of their first round league matches this term – a real achievement! It will mean that we will find ourselves pitted against the strongest teams in the league in the new year, but challenge is what will help us progress and we will focus on the process, honing our skills and developing our own game, rather than the individual results as we move forward.Very well done to Lily, Macey, Hannah, Amelie, Matthew, Nirshana, Ora, Mia, Scarlett and Lusinda.

Yr 5 Sutton and Cheam Cup Football vs Cheam Fields
Published 21/11/24Won on penalties
This was the boys’ first competitive match together and what a way to start their Cup campaign!
It was a nail-biting game seeing the score tied at 2-2 at full-time, both of the Dorchester goals coming from Teddy, with the boys heading into penalties to decide who would take their place in the next round.
Nerves of steel were definitely required but the Dorchester team rose to the occasion and managed to edge ahead of Cheam Fields and take a well-deserved win!
Congratulations to Austin, Teddy, Archie, Roman, Oscar, Caleb, Dylan, Ronnie, Jesse, Austin and Dale.

Girls’ Fulham Foundation Cup
Published 21/11/24It’s always a lovely opportunity for our children to be able to play at an event hosted by Fulham and use the Premiership level indoor facilities at their training ground.
The Foundation Cup sees schools from a wide area come together to compete for the title and also the opportunity to represent Fulham going forward into the wider national competition against other Club Foundations.
The competition is always a good standard and the pace and shorter length of the matches meant the girls had to start quickly, there was little time to find their feet or settle into their games. At the end of the competition the girls had lost two games but secured two well-deserved draws having played really well and thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
A special well done also to Dolly who was one of the few players across all the schools taking part to be awarded a certificate to recognise her demonstration of one of the Premier League Values during the tournament.
Well done to Macey, Lily, Dolly, Aiya, Maya, Gkalena, Scarlett and Amelie.

Year 4 Tag Rugby Festival
Published 14/11/24We sent an enthusiastic team of children over to John Fisher Playing Fields on Tuesday to take part in an introductory tag rugby festival led by Young Leaders from John Fisher Secondary School. Sports events like these are such a good way to help build our children’s confidence and encourage them to work with a variety of people, whilst also hopefully having lots of fun in the process. The morning started with a variety of skills practices and then the teams were given the opportunity to play some friendly matches against the other schools there. This is always a great chance for some of our children to take part in a sports event off-site and also to experience some inter-school friendly competition. The Dorchester team really rose to the challenge, representing the school extremely well and also winning two of their four games.Very well done to Jennevieve, Jaxon, Sophia, Idris, Bay, Toby and Jacob. - Read More
