Nursery: Where would you like to go on holiday?

This week in Nursery we have been thinking about holidays and different places that we can visit. We read the story ‘Penguin on Holiday’ by Salina Yoon. This story shows lots of exciting things that penguin can do at home in his cold environment. When he is at home, he likes to go ice skating and play with the snow. However, one day penguin decides that he would like a holiday; he travels to a hot beach and realises that it is nothing like his icy home. He cannot ice skate or ski but he meets a friendly crab who shows him how to build a sandcastle, surf, climb a tree and sunbathe. We have been thinking about the differences between hot and cold countries.
