Nursery: What could the Naughty Bus do at your house?

This week in Nursery we have been reading the story of the Naughty Bus by Jan and Jerry Oke. In this story a boy is given a present, when he opens it there is a double-decker bus inside. The story then shows the different things that the boy does with his toy bus. During this adventure the bus drives in London where the buildings are really tall and he drives over the dog and through a plate of baked beans. He also explores the bumpy roads in the garden and accidently falls into the pond. Thankfully he is rescued by the rescue truck but then he has to have a bath because he is a dirty bus. We worked together to draw story maps to retell the story. We then decided to make up our own adventure stories for the Naughty Bus and the children have drawn their own story maps to create their stories. Next week we will be taking photographs to try and depict these stories.

For our Phonics learning we have learnt the phoneme ‘p’ and explored different animals and objects that begin with ‘p.’ For our maths learning we have learnt all about the number two. The children understand that t make two you need one and another one. We have explored different ways to represent the number 2. We also read the story of Noah’s Ark and recreated the animals going in in pairs, again reiterating that it is one and another one.
