Nursery: How did we celebrate Diwali?

In Nursery this week we have been learning all about Diwali which is the festival of light. The children have enjoyed finding out about different ways that Diwali can be celebrated. Each child made their own Diva lamp to take home with a candle to light to share the celebration with their families. They helped to make the salt dough and then kneaded in powder paint to change the colour of their dough and added their own decorations to make their diva lamp special. They have also enjoyed creating Rangoli patterns using different materials. We even made a giant rangoli pattern outside using coloured pasta. The children were able to use their maths knowledge to sort the pasta by colour and shapes looking at similarities and differences. Happy Diwali everyone!
