Nursery: How do you identify different dinosaur species?

This week in Nursery, we were all really excited when we realised the large egg had cracked. However, we could not work out what had hatched out of it. We all became detectives and looked for clues. We found video footage of a large dinosaur within the Nursery but this left us asking even more questions? Could the large dinosaur hatch out of the egg? If not how did the large dinosaur get into Nursery? What was the dinosaur looking for? What type of dinosaur was it? The children then spent the rest of the week researching facts about different dinosaurs to find out what type of dinosaur we had seen. They then drew cards and pictures to see if we could encourage the dinosaur to come back and visit us.

For our Maths learning we have been exploring the concept of ‘one more.’ In phonics we have been continuing to orally blend the sounds in words.
