Whether you are looking for a Nursery place, Reception place or a place in another year group, we would be delighted to welcome you to Dorchester Primary School.
The best way to discover what makes our school special is to come and visit us. We would love to show you around, introduce you to our children and staff, and answer any questions you may have.

If your child is due to start Nursery or Reception in September 2027, why not come along to one of our Open Events?
- Monday 14th September – 9:30am

- Wednesday 4th November – 9:30am

- Friday 11th December – 9:30am

Nursery Admissions (September 2027)
Applications for Nursery places are now open.

If you have any questions about Nursery admissions, please contact the school office and we will be happy to help.
30-Hour Childcare Funding
If you are applying for a funded Nursery place using a 30-hour eligibility code, HMRC recommends applying by 31 July before your child's September start.
Please provide your eligibility code to the school as soon as you receive it. Funding cannot be claimed until a valid code has been received.
Reception Admissions (September 2027)
Reception places are allocated by Sutton Council.
Application deadline: 15/01/2027
If you are interested in a Reception place after the application process has closed, would like to enquire about vacancies or have any other questions, please contact the school office.
In-Year Admissions (Years R–6)
In -Year Admissions are admissions during the school year or into year groups other than Nursery and Reception.
We currently have places available in some year groups and operate waiting lists where year groups are full.

Children with SEND
At Dorchester Primary School, we are proud of our inclusive ethos and are committed to helping every child belong, learn and thrive.
If your child has Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) and you are considering our Nursery or school, we strongly encourage you to contact us before your child starts.
Our SENDCO, Suzanne Rankin, would be delighted to meet with you to discuss your child's strengths, needs and the support we can provide.

Transition planning for children with SEND begins as soon as places have been accepted to ensure every child has the best possible start.
Parents may also find independent advice helpful through Sutton Information, Advice and Support Service (SIASS), which provides free, confidential and impartial guidance for families of children with SEND.
Families Joining from Hong Kong
We are delighted to have welcomed several families from Hong Kong into our school community in recent years.
