Year 5 – Why is exercise an important part of staying healthy?

We have been thinking this week about the importance of staying healthy, and why exercise is an important part of that. We discussed how exercise isn't just about going to the gym, or running a marathon, but it could include taking the stairs instead of a lift or escalator or walking to school instead of driving. Together with a well-balanced diet, it makes a huge difference to how our bodies fight infections and stay healthy – which in turn mens we are fit for school and our weekend activities. We also learnt about Stevie Wonder in our Musician of the Month assembly. He has written and recorded some very famous songs which we enjoyed listening to. In English, we have been writing our own version of Faith Over Ferocity, our story about the first Viking invasion. We are trying really hard to include the writing features we have learnt about, including relative clauses.
