Year 5 - How do we know what we know about the Vikings?

We have had a fantastic start to Year 5. This week we dressed as Vikings for our WOW day when we learnt where they came from, made some Viking jewellery, retold Viking myths about Thor and Loki. The highlight of the day for many was when we investigated what we know about Viking shields, designed them using primary sources and then made them using historical evidence. In English, we are writing a recount of the first invasion of Lindisfarne. In Science we have started to investigate how we can keep our teachers' coffee warm using a range of insulators.
