Year 5 – Why is it important we learn to ride our bikes safely on the road?

This week a group of children has been taking part in the Bikeability scheme. This involves instructors coming into school, training children how to ride and stop safely on their bikes, before taking them out onto the local streets. For any children that choose to ride bikes to Secondary School, it is important that they are taught before they go on the roads how to cycle safely. This is an excellent scheme to help prepare cyclists for the roads. We have also met our new classmates and Year 6 teachers this week on Transition morning. We still have two weeks left to make the most of our current classes and finish those projects that need finishing before the end of the year.
