Borough Football News

Dorchester have been extremely proud to have had Austin representing us in the Sutton Borough Squad this year. He has worked very hard and showed real commitment over the season to training which saw him earn a regular place in the team and an integral part of the team’s defence. His attitude and approach are such good examples of how resilience and positivity count for an awful lot when striving to achieve a goal.

In terms of the overall squad’s season, they really did have a successful one, winning the Southern Counties League Cup at Oxford City and the league!

Alongside that they also made it to two semi-finals, unfortunately losing in the London Cup to Thurrock and in The Shires Cup to Dacorum, once again playing at the Oxford City stadium.

Well done Sutton!

The benefits of being involved in opportunities like this are far-reaching – Austin has thrived in the squad and has also made new friends, some of whom he will be meeting up with again when he transfers to secondary school – so we really encourage all our children to take these chances when they come along and not be afraid to give it a go, you never know where they might take you!

We are also very pleased that following in Austin’s footsteps we have Rosie in Yr 3 who has just completed trials and been offered a place on the newly formed Girls’ Borough Pathway, seeing girls from younger year groups who have shown potential being offered regular training in preparation for more competitive squads in the future. Dolly and Dolly-Ann in Year 5 have also been attending trials, which have been extended into the Summer, with some up-coming matches scheduled.

Well done Rosie, Dolly & Dolly-Ann – we look forward to following your journey too.
