Netball vs Green Wrythe

Lost 5-1

The score line doesn’t really reflect what a back and forth game this was and how close it was for much of the match. Dorchester were 2-1 down at half time and Green Wrythe pulled ahead in the second half simply by effectively converting the chances they had. They were very good at fighting for the ball under the post and winning rebounds so although our technique for footwork and shooting were strong they worked really hard to win the ball and showed real grit and determination.

We had some lovely moments of play bringing the ball down court and there were some excellent feeds into the circle. Our passing overall wasn’t as careful as it has been though, which led to us losing the ball more than we would have liked. More movement into space and to get free would have made a huge difference and would have probably been the key to bringing the score line much closer. There was lots to take away from the match though and much for us to learn going into the last couple of games and, as always, all the children represented us with positive attitudes and good sporting behaviour.

A particular well done to Mariana who played for the A team for the first time today and was excellent - great energy, movement and game play!

Well done to the whole team comprising Mariana, Sophia, Juliette, Ora, Darcy-Mae, Tommie and Tiya.
