Year 5 Football - Cup final, runners-up

On Friday afternoon, the Year 5 football team went to the neutral ground of Brookfield to finally take part in the Sutton and Cheam 2025 Cup Final against Cheam Common. The boys started strong and dominated much of the first half. Around 15 minutes in, Roman played a great pass down the right hand side which was picked up by Austin. Austin collected the ball, made his way into the box and put Dorchester 1-0 up! Just before half time, Cheam Common were on the attack and scored a goal with a header at the back post making it 1-1 at half time. As the second half started, unfortunately Cheam Common scored an early goal putting them 2-1 up. Shortly after, a refereeing decision went against us causing us to be 3-1 down. Cheam Common wrapped the game up shortly before Full Time making it 4-1. The boys played fantastic throughout our cup run and all represented the school brilliantly. Finishing runners up of a cup competition is a huge achievement and we are all very proud of them.
