Year 5 & 6 Cricket tournament

It was definitely cricket weather on Monday as 8 Dorchester cricketers took to the crease to compete in the Borough Dynamos Competition.
The tournament wasn’t tiered and so the team were facing tough opposition throughout the day but they approached every game positively and showed no fear – despite the pace of some of the bowlers they were facing!
Very quickly, the team found their feet and learnt how to work together when fielding, also improving their communication when batting to make runs and not give away wickets. They took some good catches throughout the day and there were some great shots played – sixes and fours helped to improve their overall score in each game into the final match against Cheam Fields where it was a much more closely fought end to the day. Each and every one of the players contributed to the overall team performance and were such great ambassadors for the school, showing great sporting attitudes – we were very proud of them.
Very well done to Matthew, Lily, Ollie, Scarlett, Gabby, Amelie, Austin and Gkalena.
