Nursery: What could be in the egg?

This week in Nursery, we were all very excited when we arrived in Nursery and discovered a large egg had been laid in a small nest in the middle of the classroom. The children have been developing their mark making skills by drawing what they think could be inside with guessing including a shark, a dinosaur and a chick. They have drawn some fantastic representations and some of the children have been using their phonics skills to label the phonemes that they can hear within the words.
Next week we are going to be reading the story ‘Who’s in the Egg?’ to learn about different animals that could be in the egg. For our maths learning, we have been working on matching numerals to quantity by counting the correct number or baby dinosaurs into different nests.
