Year 4 How did the Tudor period start?

Our main learning topic this term is all about the Tudor period of British history. We will be visiting Hampton Court Palace to learn about life in the royal court of Henry VIII as well as learning about why Henry VIII had six wives. We started this week by looking at whom the first Tudor monarch was and how he became King. It all started on a battlefield in Leicestershire at the Battle of Bosworth Field. Henry Tudor won the battle, so became King - hence this period being called The Tudors. We are very excited to learn more about its most controversial King and all of his wives and children.
