Year 2: How do we know so much about the Great Fire of London?

This week, we learned more about Samuel Pepys (Mr Peeps) who wrote about his life in his diary, and gave a detailed record of what happened during the Great Fire of London. We also looked at some artwork, which was painted years later, and took some time to talk about why Pepys’ account might be more helpful / accurate than the artwork, when trying to understand exactly what happened.

We have also spent some time this week making some art (collages) of our own, inspired by the paintings that we have seen.
