Nursery: What presents would you like from Santa?

This week in Nursery, This week in Nursery, we have been learning that Christmas is a special festival for Christians because Jesus was born; Christians believe that Jesus is the son of God. The children have enjoyed decorating the Nursery and they have been counting down the days to Christmas using our class advent calendar. The children have all been practising giving meaning to their marks and ‘written’ some fantastic letters to Santa. Many of them have also tried to write their names so that Santa knows that the letter is from them. In Maths, we having been continuing to create repeating patterns using two colours for example red, green, red, green, red, green. Some of the children were able to use patterns to make candy canes. For our Phonics learning, we have been looking at objects beginning with the ‘p’ sound. We played a game called Bertha the Bus and Bertha the bus saw lots of animals beginning with ‘p’ including a parrot, penguin, pig, panda and polar bear.
