14th March 2025

Dear Dorchester Families,

This week we have welcomed a team from Challenge Partners to our school.  The team is made up of a Lead Reviewer with three visiting reviewers - headteachers and deputy headteachers from other schools - who work with a team from our school to consider different aspects of our provision here at Dorchester.  The combined team celebrates our successes and then formulates some 'even better ifs'  to ensure that we keep moving forward as a school.  As part of their visit, the team met with Governors, members of staff and, of course, children, as well as visiting lessons in all year groups.  It is always lovely to have an opportunity to show off our amazing school to visitors - they were very impressed with everything we offer here.  We will, of course, share the report with you once we have it.

A huge thank you to FODS for organising a fantastic Quiz Night last Friday; the evening was great fun with lots of friendly rivalry between teams.  Thanks to all who supported the event - the staff now have a reputation to uphold - better get revising for next year!

Save the Dates:  Please make sure you read the news articles below as they outline upcoming events in the next few weeks, such as the Spring Festival Bonnet Parade, Comic Relief Joke Competition, FODS Mother's Day shop etc.  Please get the dates in your diary now as it really helps us if we aren't inundated with last-minute requests, and it means your children don't miss out.  Thank you.

Enjoy the weekend.

Headteacher
