Dear Parents
As many of you are aware, Dorchester Primary is part of the Sutton Education Trust, a group of schools committed to working together for the benefit of all the children across our communities. Our joint event, Happy's Circus, has been a great success over the past couple of nights, and we are looking forward to enjoying the final show with another 400 or so visitors tonight. It has been great to see our school communities come together to share something so joyous - especially as the weather has been so miserable. Huge thanks go to our colleagues at Foresters Primary School for hosting the event on behalf of all the schools.
We were delighted to receive more candidates than we have current vacancies as Parent Governors. Do please read the resumes of our candidates which were sent out yesterday and use your vote for your preferred candidate. Thank you.
A bit of advance notice that we will be holding our Harvest Assembly on Wednesday 23rd October and we will, once again, be collecting for the local Foodbank. They will send us details of the items they are most in need of in the next week or so, and we will be looking for volunteers to help us to take the food across to the foodbank storage - so please put the date in your diary if you are able to help.
Next week, we are hosting writing workshops at 9am for years 1 and 2 on Monday, 3 and 4 on Tuesday and 5 and 6 on Wednesday. Parents frequently ask us how they can best support their child's writing and these events are designed to answer that question. So if you have ever wondered what a subordinating conjunction or a fronted adverbial is...please come along and find out.
In the meantime, have a great weekend.
