Dear Dorchester Families,

No sooner do we welcome our new children into Nursery and Reception than we begin preparing for next September! Monday saw our first Open Event of the academic year, and it was lovely to welcome prospective families and show them around our wonderful school. Our Year 6 tour guides spoke with tremendous confidence, explaining in detail what being part of the Dorchester community means to them. We received excellent feedback from the parents and carers who attended. Our next Open Morning is on Tuesday 6th October, so if you know anyone looking for a Reception or Nursery place for September 2027, please encourage them to book through the school website.

We currently have a vacancy for a parent governor. Joining our Governing Board is a rewarding way to contribute to the life and future direction of the school, while developing a deeper understanding of how the school is led and how strategic decisions are made. We would particularly welcome applications from parents or carers with experience in HR or procurement, as these areas are currently under-represented on the Board; however, expertise in these fields is not essential, and a wide range of professional, voluntary and life experience would be valuable. Above all, we are looking for someone who is committed to improving outcomes for all our children, enjoys working as part of a team and is willing to learn.
