Dear Dorchester Families,
We have had a brilliant final week of term, sharing transition events with children and parents alike. Year 2 children marked their transition to the juniors at their special Tie Assembly on Wednesday, where each child was presented with their new school tie and a certificate celebrating everything they have achieved during their time in the infants.
Year 6 enjoyed a fantastic Leavers' Festival on Wednesday evening before presenting a wonderful Leavers' Assembly this morning. They reflected on their time at Dorchester, sharing memories from their very first days in Early Years right through to their final week with us. They were also presented with Sports and Spanish Awards, along with their Leavers' Certificates, before ensuring there wasn't a dry eye in the hall with their beautiful rendition of The Memories Shine. We still have one final tradition to enjoy this afternoon – the annual staff versus Year 6 water fight!
Thank you all for everything you have done to support the school this year. The partnership between home and school is so important, and together we can achieve so much more for our children and our wider community.
I wish you all a wonderful, restful summer break and look forward to welcoming most of our children back to school on Thursday 3rd September.
To our Year 6 leavers: thank you for everything you have brought to Dorchester during your time with us. You leave us with wonderful memories, and we are incredibly proud of the young people you have become. We know you will continue to shine as you begin the next exciting chapter of your journey, and you will always remain part of the Dorchester family.
