Dear Dorchester Families,

We have so much to be proud of in our children at the end of another busy week in school.

Our Year 6 children have managed their SATs impressively - for many of them their first external exams in true test conditions - and they rose to the challenge beautifully, making sure they did their very best in every paper - we couldn't ask for any more than that.  They also enjoyed their top up breakfasts and extra playtimes, of course!  Outside of their papers there has been a lot of Design and Technology work (hugely impressive sewing skills!) and this afternoon has been enhanced by some beautiful singing as they prepare for their Leavers' Production.  They have also had their Leavers' Hoodies delivered today, which they will be wearing proudly for the next few weeks.

A shout out for our Year 1 children in Rose Class who led a most impressive assembly this morning, sharing their learning with the school and family and friends.  They spoke with confidence, supported one another brilliantly and were simply bursting with enthusiasm.   What a way to lift the spirits on a Friday morning!  Thank you Rose Class.

Another mention for our Year 5 children, many of whom spent three days this week on their PGL residential, where they rose to new challenges, looked after one another and were great company for the adults who went along.  Those children who stayed in school were equally as impressive as they designed and made models of some impressive theme park rides, amongst other activities.  Miss Butler thoroughly enjoyed spending three days with them, and their outcomes were incredible.

Enjoy the weekend.
