Dear Dorchester Families

We have had a lovely first week back; it has been great to hear about the children's half-term adventures and the Hallowe'en celebrations for those who mark it.

We have had a very successful sporting week here - last Friday the football team secured a last minute win in their cup match, and our netball team did amazingly well in their first match of the season, coming away with a fantastic win.  Do read the match reports below to find out more.

It's that time of year again when we pause to remember the sacrifices made by all those involved in conflicts - past and present, and we will be marking Remembrance Day next week with the children in school.  On Remembrance Sunday (this Sunday, 9th November) we have once again been invited to take part in the service at the War Memorial at Churchyard on Cheam Common Road in Worcester Park (next to the Uniform Shop).  Everyone is welcome to come along - it is always a lovely event and it is always great to see  Dorchester families there supporting the children participating in the service.  The service begins at 10:45am and lasts about half an hour, and is followed by the parade up Central Road to the Royal British Legion - we hope to see you there.

Please remember that next Tuesday and Wednesday there will be individual and sibling pictures – please ensure all children are in full uniform on Tuesday, excluding Year 5. Year 5 will wear PE kits on Tuesday and full uniform on Wednesday for their photos. Year 1 & 2 sibling photos will take place on Tuesday and the remaining sibling photos will take place on Wednesday.

Thank you to FODS for organising what I am sure will be another fantastic quiz night tonight - I trust everyone participating has been swotting up on all things general knowledge in preparation!

Enjoy the weekend.
