Hello everyone

We really enjoyed being headteacher and deputy head for the day. We had a very busy day - from welcoming in children at the main gate, hosting assembly with Mrs Wyman and meeting with a Governor.

Here are some important messages from us;

1. When we visited each classroom, some classes were a little bit messy, with their bags and coats on the floor. We encouraged everyone to use the pegs.

2. We now have a new rule.

After half term nobody is allowed to bring their own balls in from home. This is because they can cause disagreements or distractions, instead we have a lovely selection of new balls, hoops, skipping ropes and other fun items being delivered to school. We can play with these safely instead.

Don't forget our brand-new trim trail area will be open very soon!

3. It was a really good day visiting the classrooms and seeing how good & quiet people were when the teachers were talking. Some were a bit noisy working but most were quiet. It was very good.

4. We both spoke to one of the governors and said what we could change about the school, and what we love about Dorchester - we had a very successful meeting.

I won 'headteacher for the day' after entering a competition at the Summer Fair - Don't miss out your chance to be a headteacher for the day, visit the Christmas fair on Saturday 29th November.

Have a fun half term, we will see everyone back on Monday 3rd November.

✨Don't forget to place your order! ✨

Your child should have brought home their 'Celebration card' template.

You can order unique personalised cards and gifts featuring your child’s own artwork. Not only do they make wonderful keepsakes for family and friends, but every order helps raise vital funds for our school.

πŸ’– Treasured memories for you
🎁 Thoughtful presents for loved ones
🏫 Extra funds for our children’s learning

It’s a simple way to give something special while supporting our PTA. Thank you for helping us make a big difference!

Any items ordered allow FODS to receive a % of the profit – these funds really help us to support our school. It's simple – the quicker and more we order – the more profit we can make.

There are some wonderful items to order;

This will only affect a small number, but please remember that if your child designed their card 'landscape', we would advise only ordering cards, paper, tags or magnets – otherwise the image will appear 'sideways' - and choose for the inside of cards to be blank.
