Dear Dorchester Families,

It's been a very busy week in school.  On Monday, we were delighted to welcome prospective parents to our school for our first Open Morning of the year; our newly appointed prefects did an amazing job of sharing their experiences at Dorchester as they showed them around our school.

It was lovely to welcome some new faces at our FODS AGM on Tuesday evening.  FODS really helps our school to build as a community, and it is great to have people willing and ready to make that happen.  Thank you to everyone who came and offered their ideas and support – it really does make a difference.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank all of those people who have volunteered as class reps for this academic year.  It is one of those jobs that can be tricky at times but, again, it is crucial to build a community and to make sure that all the things we want to happen for our children can happen.  It is also a role that provides invaluable support to parents and families, particularly those who may be new to the school or even to the area.  I understand we are still looking for Class Reps for Nursery, Red Class and Emerald Class – If you have a child in either of these classes and feel that you could support the school and parents in this way, please let us know.

Have a lovely weekend.

Cathy Bell
Headteacher
