27th June 2025

Dear Dorchester Families,

The children were very excited to find out who their teacher will be for next academic year - and the teachers are equally excited to be meeting their new classes at our 'move up morning' next week.

Just for your information, teachers across the school will be:

Nursery:  Annabel Glover (Rainbow)

Reception:  Mrs Rich (Bronze) and Miss Ahmed (Silver)

Year 1:  Miss Baldwin (Rose) and Miss Chantler (Red)

Year 2:  Miss Bromley (Buttercup) and Mrs Horne/Mrs George (Topaz)

Year 3:  Mrs Marwood/Mrs Patel (Amber) and Mrs Thackwell (Orange)

Year 4:  Miss Semmens (Emerald) and Mrs Macaulay/Mrs Wilkins (Fern)

Year 5:  Miss Butler/Mrs Harman (Blue), Mrs Cucharo (Indigo), Miss Flint (Sapphire)

Year 6:  Mr Dennis/Mrs Glover (Lavender), Mr Rayner (Purple), Mrs Wyman (Amethyst)

Of course we recognise that transition can be a tricky  time for children - change is hard for all of us!  Rest assured, our teachers and support staff will do all they can to make sure that children are able to make the move to their next year group confidently.  For children who need it, your child's teacher will give you a transition book to use with your child over the summer break to make sure they are familiar with their new environment come September.

But we have a lot of learning, and a lot of fun to fit in before then! Year 6 are busy working on their end of year production as well as heading off on residential soon - and there are still football matches (the Year 5 final no less!), swimming gala, field trips, two sport mornings, Bikeability, Borough Athletics...three busy weeks.

Wishing you a restful weekend - we're going to need it!

Cathy Bell
