20th December 2024

Dear Dorchester Families,

We have had a wonderful final week of term.  Our 'family service' Christmas lunch was amazing, with our Year 5 and Year 6 children ably supporting younger children, and Year 6 children hosting their tables beautifully.

The Early Years Nativity was wonderful too - the children rose to the occasion amazingly and loved speaking, singing and dancing for such enthusiastic audiences, even if they were utterly exhausted by the end of it!

As we reach the end of a very long and busy term, I want to thank you all for your support of all we do here at Dorchester.  So many of you volunteer your time, whether it be to help in class, hear readers, on trips, with sports events - thank you.  Thanks too to our amazing FODS committee members and volunteers -= all those who have manned cake sales and the Year 6 hot chocolate stall - another term of achieving amazing things by working together.  And if you haven't seen the amazing total raised at the Christmas Fair yet, do scroll down to the FODS section of the newsletter to read all about it!

I would like to extend our thanks too for all of the very kind comments, cards and gifts that have been received in school this week.  Whilst we love our jobs and doing the very best we can for all the children here, it is lovely to know that this is noticed and appreciated.

For those who celebrate, we wish you and yours a Christmas filled with joy and blessings, and a wonderful year ahead.

Cathy Bell
Headteacher

A reminder that school re-opens to children on Monday 6th January 2025 at normal drop off time, between 8:30 and 8:45am.
