Dear Dorchester Families

Things are beginning to feel a little festive at school.  Planning is underway for Christmas Lunch, the wonderful sound of children singing Nativity Songs is filling the corridors.   Rev Hannah visited from Christ Church with St Philip during the week and spoke to the children about the Advent Wreath, and why each of the elements of the wreath is symbolic to Christians during the season of Advent.

Our amazing FODS team are busy making last minute preparations for the Christmas Fair next Saturday, 7th December.  Make sure you have the date marked in your diary so you can come along to support our school and have lots of fun at the same time.  The choir will entertain us and there will be plenty of food, fun and games too.  Santa Claus has confirmed his attendance too!

For those who live on, or near, the Hamptons, their Christmas Light switch on is also on Saturday, 7th December at 5pm.  Our Junior Choir will again be singing ahead of the big switch on.  It is always a lovely occasion - and the mulled wine and hot chocolate go some way towards keeping any chill in the air at bay.  It would be lovely to see you there if you can make it.

And more on FODS - a big thank you for organising the discos last week - in case you haven't seen the social media post, as well as being lots of fun, the discos raised an amazing £1032.94 - an incredible achievement.  Thank you to all the organisers and those who volunteered on the night.

We haven't received many jumpers for our Christmas Jumper swap on Thursday.  If you have any Christmas jumpers your child has outgrown, or if you just fancy a change, please see the notice in Eco-News below.  We will extend the deadline for getting jumpers to swap to us until Wednesday 4th December.

Have a lovely weekend.
