Dear Dorchester Families,

Why Your Voluntary School Fund Contributions Matter

It's that time of year again when we ask parents to make a small voluntary contribtuion to our School Fund.

The School Fund helps to make so many of the “extra” things possible for our children? Although it’s called voluntary, these contributions play a vital role in enriching school life beyond what government funding covers.

Your donations go directly towards the kinds of experiences and resources that make a big difference — things like special visitors and workshops, Forest School resources, class treats and rewards, extra art and science materials, and support for trips and events throughout the year.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us give all children those memorable moments that bring learning to life.

Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to our Dorchester Primary School Fund. Your generosity helps us to continue offering these “little extras” that make such a big difference.e.

If you haven’t yet made your £20 per term voluntary contribution, please do so via School Gateway. Every donation, however small, directly benefits our children and helps us maintain the broad, exciting curriculum that makes Dorchester Primary so special.

If you’re eligible for Gift Aid, please also complete the quick online declaration here — it allows us to claim an extra 25% at no extra cost to you.

Thank you so much for your continued support — it really does make a difference!

Headteacher for a Day

On Thursday 23rd October, I will be Headteacher for the Day following my win in the competition at the Summer Fair.  My deputy will be Miss Walsh.  The day will be a non-uniform day, so children may come to school wearing safe and sensible clothes.  We will be hosting assembly, visiting classrooms during the day, having a meeting with Governors and setting up a dance area at lunchtime.  I have also made a rule that, if all the children work hard and have finished their learning in time, playtime will be 5 minutes longer than usual.  We look forward to seeing you when we are on Gate Duty on Thursday morning.

Thank you

Miss Rushworth
Headteacher for the Day

Have a lovely weekend.

Last year's event was a huge success, so we are so excited to see what this year brings.

See poster for full details.

✨Don't forget to place your order! ✨

Your child should have brought home their 'Celebration card' template.

You can order unique personalised cards and gifts featuring your child’s own artwork. Not only do they make wonderful keepsakes for family and friends, but every order helps raise vital funds for our school.

💖 Treasured memories for you
🎁 Thoughtful presents for loved ones
🏫 Extra funds for our children’s learning

It’s a simple way to give something special while supporting our PTA. Thank you for helping us make a big difference!

Any items ordered allow FODS to receive a % of the profit – these funds really help us to support our school. It's simple – the quicker and more we order – the more profit we can make.

There are some wonderful items to order;

This will only affect a small number, but please remember that if your child designed their card 'landscape', we would advise only ordering cards, paper, tags or magnets – otherwise the image will appear 'sideways' - and choose for the inside of cards to be blank.
