23rd May 2025

Dear Dorchester Families,

Although it has been a relatively short half-term, it has certainly been a busy one, with Year 6 SATS, trips and visits, sporting events, a tea-time concert and, of course, the chicks.  We continue to do all we can to make sure we offer a curriculum to our children that offers a range of opportunities and is lots of fun too.  We are extremely grateful to those families who have made voluntary contributions to the school fund this term as these will enable us to continue to offer such opportunities at a time when school budgets are tighter than ever.   If you have not made a contribution and are willing and able to do so, we would really appreciate it - payments are available on School Gateway.

On Thursday 5th June (Thursday after half term), we will have a videographer in school creating a video showing all we offer here at Dorchester.  Lots of the children will be keen to take part (but we will not include any children we don't have photo permission for) so it would really help us if you could support the children in looking even smarter than usual that day - in school unform with shirts and ties for juniors if they have them.  It will be great to include as many children as possible so thanks, in advance, for your support.

Remember that Monday 2nd June is an inset day. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday 3rd June.

Enjoy the half term break.

Kind regards

Cathy Bell
Headteacher
