Reception: What is your favourite planet fact?

The children have continued learning about the solar system and have had the challenge of completing their Star Writes about their chosen planets. Star Writes are when the children complete an independent piece of writing that they have prepared for the previous week. We have been blown away by the phonic knowledge that the children have shown us this week. They have made such an effort.  We have also read some fun Alien stories and been making up our own outer space stories while playing with the large rocket and the Alien space station.

In Maths we have been learning about Capacity when we measure how much space there is inside a container. We have explored and compared capacity, looking at  many balls we can get inside different sized buckets and boxes, by filling them and pouring the balls from one to the other. Do the balls spill over or is there still empty space?
